Transcool T5 12 Volt Portable Air Cooler

The T5 comes with a 110-240 Volt AC transformer so you can use it in household power as well!

The T5 will not cool down a ‘room’ to a controlled temperature, this is where a refrigerated unit is required

But the  T5 Transcool is great to blow a cool breeze over the user whilst in front of the unit.

It  is a ‘personal spot cooler’ – delivering a cool breeze on you effectively at a range of up to 5 metres (10-15′) distance.

Quite simply – No!

• A refrigerated air conditioning system is hard to beat, but useless without 110-240v electricity!
• A refrigerated air conditioning system has many complex and expensive components. These systems require many permanently fitted parts such as a compressor, condenser, evaporator and refrigerant gas to cool air. A vehicle or household air conditioner requires immense power to ‘drive’.

Water usage with evaporative cooling varies on fan speed and ambient air temperature.

Under most conditions Transcool’s 6 litre (1.5 gallon) supply will last up to 18 hrs  on low  speed

For this operation you turn the water pump off on touch pad.

The T5 can also operate as an evaporative cooler with water pump turned on, or as a fan without water with COOL pump turned off.

The T5 must not be run without water with pump on.

The T5 produces a loud warning tone if water runs out

The Transcool is surprisingly effective in humid areas!

We have used and sold these units around all areas of Australia with humidity levels of over 90% at times with surprising results.

We never claim that Transcool will cool down an area, but the feeling of the cool air blowing on your skin in humid areas is amazing

The Transcool T5 only uses 1 Amp on Low speed and a maximum of 3Amps (36W) on high speed.

You will generally find ‘low’ fan speed (1 amp) more than adequate for sleeping.

For extended periods of cooling, use of a deep cycle battery or battery power pack is recommended as they are designed for powering appliances.

A car ‘starting battery’ is basically designed to provide a short powerful supply to start your vehicle, but not to power appliances for any length of time.

Calculating Battery Running Time-

Depth of discharge, also known as DOD, shouldn’t be any more than 50% in most deep cycle batteries in order to get the best battery life.

Depth of discharge is a very important calculation you should make when choosing the size of a deep cycle battery.

Example 1/  12v 100 Amp Hour AGM Deep Cycle battery

100 Ah x 50% =50 Amps useable power

Then divide this by the power draw of your appliance

50Ah divided by 1 Amps (Transcool on low speed)= 50 hours use

Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries (LiPO4 )

Lithium batteries are far lighter and also have a greater Depth of Discharge (DOD)

Up to 80% of battery capacity can be used and still offer long battery life

Example 2/ 12 Volt 100 Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery

100Ah x 80% = 80 Amp hrs useable power

80 divided by 1 amps =80 hrs

Example 3/ 12 Volt 60 Ah LiPO4 Battery

60 Ah x 80%=48hrs useable power

48 hrs divided by 1 Amp= 48 hrs use

As you can see, a smaller LiPo4 battery with greater DOD can provide far more hours supply!

A Lithium Battery also has far more cycle life cycles (ability to be charged and discharged) than a conventional AGM or Calcium Deep Cycle battery

A lithium battery can be used for 2000+ life cycles
